A new way to be involved in your community! Coming soon to the City of Alma and brought to you by the Alma Police is your chance to get involved. We are asking for local residents to donate their time, skills, and talents to improve our community. Through Volunteers in Police Services (VIPS) we are able to coordinate and facilitate functions that currently are not being addressed. VIPS participants will also have the option to choose what areas they want to volunteer for and how much time they wish to dedicate. A second opportunity for area residents to become involved is by participating in the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT). These neighborhood teams are a key function during times of disaster. Trained in light search and rescue, basic first aid, and other key areas. CERT is a great way to help during a time of crisis. Both VIPS and CERT require a time commitment as they each have training that is required. If you are interested please check out the Links to CERT and VIPS on our homepage or contact CSO Overla for more information.
