Senior Watch
Similar to the Business watch in that an officer is assigned to liaison with the senior citizens in the community putting on crime prevention programs that are of specific interest to them. Elderly Abuse, frauds, and scams are just a few of the potential programs. This segment of our community generally is very supportive of the police department and would be a valuable asset in our crime prevention initiative.
The senior check program allows senior citizens who live alone the opportunity to become part of our call in program. Citizens decide the times and dates they wish to call the Alma Police Department to let us know they are OK. If they miss a call we will then go to their home and check on their welfare.
