The mission statement of the Alma Police Department is:
To serve the citizens of Alma by providing safety and improving the quality of life in our community through excellence in policing. Our mandate is to do so with honor and integrity.
The major goal of the Alma Police Department in 2010 is to further our relationships with the community through the expansion of community policing and the use of Crime Prevention Programs
The Crime Prevention Philosophy adopted by the Alma Police Department facilitates the promotion of community – based policing as it provides varying services to the Alma community. In addition Crime Prevention supports the functions of the police department through research and preventative programs to reduce the incidence of crime in Alma.
